Program
Staff plan and implement daily activities designed to meet the varying developmental
needs of the children within each group. The programs are aimed at providing
children with basic skills in order to cope successfully with school, family
and society and incorporate the following:
1. Cultural awareness
2. Learning how to get along with others and share
3. Group participation
4. Developing self confidence and free expression
5. Education and awareness of his/her world
6. Developing necessary sensory and motor skill
7. Developing independence
8. Intellectual development
9. Fun
10. Music and movement experiences
Programs are written weekly and displayed in the room. At the end of each week the program is evaluated to determine whether it has achieved its goals.
Parents suggestions are
always welcome and will be taken into account by staff when they plan the program.
Expectations and benefits of parents involvement:
Parents are the primary educators of their children. When they enter a childcare
Centre a partnership is formed where staff and parents share a common goal in
the overall growth and development of the child.
This enables this partnership
to flourish, we would appreciate parents participation and involvement in the
running of the Centre.
Ways parents can be involved are as follows:
1. Volunteer to assist staff with activities for the children.
2. Volunteer to assist staff with children when going on an excursion.
3. Volunteer to read a story or sing a song to the children in your native language
It is advisable that parents
visit the Centre before the child is enrolled. This short visit will give parents
and children the opportunity to get to know the Centre and staff, and for the
staff to get to know the parents and child. This visit can be done at the time
the parent comes to the Centre to make application, at a later time that is
more convenient.
ENROLMENT forms are to be completed and returned on the child's commencement
day, including a health-care summary and immunisation record.
