The Centre is open to all residents, age is no barrier. Drop in for a cuppa and a chat or take part in our many and varied activities. We provide stimulation, recreation and creativity in a relaxed informal atmosphere.

• English Language Classes

Improve your skills in Reading, Writing, Speaking, Listening & Computers

All these classes are held at the Clarinda Community Centre, Viney St, Clarinda.
Classes are small, friendly & flexible,

Beginners ESL
A very basic entry level course for those with limited English skills or confidence Wednesdays 1 – 3 pm

Beginners Computer Skills
Course aims to give skills, knowledge and confidence to use computers, and includes basic skills to explore the Internet. Plus time permitting looks at E-mail.
Ideal for those with little or no computer skills
Thurs 1.30 – 4 pm

English Skills: ESL Framework Level 1 & 2
Covers; reading, writing, speaking & listening These are
nationally recognised & accredited courses, and can be used as a pathway to employment & further study e.g. TAFE.

• MS Word: The Basics & Beyond

Get the most out of MS Word, the most popular & widely used word processing package. Covers Tables, Tabulations, Text formatting, Word Art, Mail Merge, Sections, Headers & Footers and more

Students will learn how to capture, edit, add special effects, use transitions, add a sound track and also create a voice-over. Students will be shown how to prepare the completed project for rendering and burning to a CD or DVD." and how to transfer video to the computer from various sources such as VCR tape

Learn how to computerise your business accounts
using MYOB. Covers setting up & modifying
accounts, general ledger, debtors & creditors & bank
reconciliation. Also covers payroll functions,
categories, setting up employee records, printing
payroll advice plus understanding your payroll
obligations & liabilities etc.
Basic book keeping and computer skills required
