The Centre is open to all residents, age is no barrier. Drop in for a cuppa and a chat or take part in our many and varied activities. We provide stimulation, recreation and creativity in a relaxed informal atmosphere.

English Language Classes

Improve your skills in Reading, Writing, Speaking, Listening & Computers

All these classes are held at the Clarinda Community Centre, Viney St, Clarinda.
Classes are small, friendly & flexible, and governement funded.

Beginners ESL
Fridays 1 – 3 pm Starts 4th February

General English
Improve your general reading, writing speaking & listening skills
Mon & Tues 9am—12 Starts 1st Feb

English Skills: ESL Framework Level 1 & 2
Covers; reading, writing, speaking & listening These are
nationally recognised & accredited courses, and can be used as a pathway to employment & further study e.g. TAFE. Starts 3rd Feb

21936VIC Certificate I in ESL (Access): Wed & Thurs 9 am 12 pm
21932VIC Certificate II in ESL (Access): Wed 1 - 4 pm & Fri 9am - 12

Costs : Beginners; $87 per year, Level 1, 2 & General english skills; $260 per year, $130.00 per 1/2 year, or 65.00 per term. Concession $50.00 per year


Basic Computing Skills+++

For the complete beginner and covers all the skills you will need to use your home computer or as a pathway to other courses. Covers how to use your computer, common software packages, Internet & Email, basic maintenance and more.
Suitable for both Vista & Windows XP
Wednesdays 9.30 am—12 x 10 weeks Starts 3rd Feb
Cost: ACFE funded $50.00


Microsoft Office 2007 Skills

Follows on from the Basic & Introduction courses, and
aims to provide participants with the essentials of MS Office 2007. Covers primarily Word, Excel & Publisher but also includes Access & PowerPoint
Suitable for both Vista & Windows XP

1 - 3.30 pm. x 8 weeks Starts Tuesday 2nd Feb
Cost: $120 plus Manual $28
(You must have basic computer skills)


Internet & Email Skills

You will learn the skills needed to complete basic &
advanced search tasks ,use a browsing program, using email and downloading. Suitable for both Vista &
Windows XP
Thursday 9.30am - 12 x 8 weeks
Starts 4th Feb Cost: $50


Introduction to Computers (Night)

Gain the skills and knowledge to be able to use and operate your computer and it's software programs to perform tasks such as create documents, simple worksheets and perform basic file management.
Tuesdays 6.30—9pm x 8 weeks
Starts 2nd Feb Cost 120.00, +Manual $30.00


Digital Scrapbooking/ PhotoStory

At this fun class, you will learn how to get your digital images from your camera, CD, or Memory Card onto your computer, organize, edit and enhance your digital images, and make a digital album.
Mondays 1 - 3.30 pm x 6 weeks
Starts 8th Feb Cost: $85.00


Introduction to E-Bay

Learn how to Buy & Sell items safely, the types of fees charged by eBay, what to do when listings close, e-mail notes to buyers/ sellers, accepting or making payments, attaching photos and using PayPal.
Monday 9.30—12 x 6 weeks Starts 8th Feb Cost $85


Practical Computing Skills

This course is for the home computer user and will refresh your basic skills and plug those gaps. Also covers Internet, using images & clipart, freeware, computer security & viruses and more.
Wednesday 1—3.30 pm x 8 weeks
Starts 3rd February Cost ACFE funded $50.00
(must have basic computer experience)
